3 Erasmus+ Traineeship offers at University of the Azores: Fisheries Stock Assessment - Physical oceanography

1. Project name: Azores Fisheries Stock Assessment (FSA)

Duration: 6 to 12 months

Requirements:

Bachelor's or Master degrees in Marine Biology or associated sciences. Students should have some experience in the field of fisheries biology since it is expected that he/she shall be processing field fisheries dependent data, survey data or population dynamics metadata for fisheries stock assessment. Students shall also participate on the activities running by the FSA team at the department, such as fisheries port sampling and at the sea survey sampling.


Instruction Language: English B1 or Portuguese B1

Start date and end date: April 2017 – up to April 2018.

2. Project name: Physical oceanography

Duration: 2 to 12 months

Requirements:

Bachelor's or Master degrees in Physical Oceanography, Geophysics and/or associated sciences. Student should have some experience in Physical Oceanography data processing (e.g. CTD data processing) since it is expected that he/she shall be processing field cruises data. It is expected also that he/she shall participate in all activities running at the Oceanography Section at DOP/UAz under the supervision of Prof. Ana Martins.

3. Project name: Physical oceanography

Duration: 2 to 12 months

Requirements:

Bachelor's or Master degrees in Physical Oceanography, Meteorology, Geophysics, Climatology and/or associated sciences. Student should have some experience in processing/ handling physical and climatological ocean data since it is expected that he/she shall be relating climate indexes with physical/biological ocean data. It is expected also that he/she shall participate in all activities running at the Oceanography Section at DOP/UAz under the supervision of Prof. Ana Martins.

Start date and end date: May 2017 – up to May 2018
