What is the ESNsurvey?
ESNsurvey is one of the main projects of ESN, which has been researching different aspects of student mobility since 2005. The survey is disseminated in collaboration with 46 countries of ESN and is Europe’s biggest student-led research initiative focusing on Erasmus+ and student exchange programmes.
The questionnaire has been developed with the valuable support of an expert group consisting of the EAIE - European Association for International Education, ACA - Academic Cooperation Association, IAU - International Association of Universities, The European University Alliance - ICIU, dr. Ewa Krzaklewska from the Jagiellonian University and dr. Cristof Van Mol from the University of Tilburg and the ENIS Network of researchers.
Why is the ESNsurvey important?
The ESNsurvey project aims to improve access and quality of student mobility, with a special focus on the monitoring of the Erasmus+ programme. The findings obtained through the questionnaire are published in the report and used as recommendations to all stakeholders involved in student mobility. We expect the first results to be published in October, and the final report in 2026.
What is the target audience?
Exchange students who have been on mobility since August 2023. If you have been abroad before August 2023, we will ask you to fill in the Graduates track.
Full-Degree International Students pursuing a full degree abroad who are currently studying abroad/been studying since August 2021. As described above, if you have been abroad before August 2023, we will ask you to fill in the Graduates track.
Non-mobile students currently enrolled in Higher Education.
What is new in this edition?
The ESNsurvey is now open to graduates who previously participated in a mobility programme and are currently in employment. Their responses will help identify how international experiences have contributed to skills development and career opportunities, supporting the European Commission’s ambition to build a Union of Skills.
