Visit of a delegation from the Communication University of Zhejiang (CUZ) in China to Panteion University of Social and Political Sciences: “The importance of intercultural dialogue in a world of rapid changes and unprecedented challenges”.
On Monday, November 18, 2024, an event entitled “The importance of intercultural dialogue in a world of rapid changes and unprecedented challenges” took place in the “Aristotle” Ceremony Hall of our Institution.
The event was held as part of the visit of a six-member delegation from the Communication University of Zhejiang (CUZ) in China, led by the President of the University, Professor Wei Lu, along with Professor Jiang Yanbing, Vice Director of the Science and Technology Division, Professor Cui Bo, Dean of the Publishing School, Professor Kang Xiuji, Dean of the School of Design Arts, Professor Zho Zhentao, Interpreter and Dean Assistant at the School of Broadcast Announcing & Presenting Arts, and Mr. Guo Guangchu, Director of the International Office.
The two institutions have established a strong collaborative relationship since 2015 and are jointly pursuing academic partnerships in the past years, having signed a Memorandum of Understanding and a Bilateral Agreement within the framework of the Erasmus+ International Credit Mobility Programme.
Professor Christina Koulouri, Rector of Panteion University of Social and Political Science, welcomed the representatives of the Communication University of Zhejiang and moderated the subsequent discussion on deepening and expanding the fruitful collaboration between the two institutions.
As part of the event, presentations about the two institutions were introduced by the President of CUZ, Professor Wei Lu, and the Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs and International Relations, Professor Maria Meng-Papantoni.
During the event, a brief presentation regarding a collective publication, result of the multifaceted collaboration between the two institutions, entitled “China - Greece Exchanges. Listen to the echoes of five thousand years” was given by Professor Cui Bo, who was responsible for the publication. Finally, the Academic Coordinator of the collaboration with CUZ, Professor N. Leandros, Department of Communication, Media, and Culture, made a short presentation with the title “The Role of Universities in Intercultural Dialogue. What Recent Experience Can Teach Us” further discussing the deepening of the collaboration between the two institutions.
The event concluded with the exchange of gifts and a formal luncheon.
